Kauziena brewery

Brand visual identity · Packaging design · Latvia · 2015

At the time of designing this, Kauziena was an upcoming beer brewery in need of a full branding package. They were one of the production pioneers of an IPA type of beer in Latvia. Their target user was described as an explorer, an adventurer. The presented layouts show one of the proposals featuring a new logo, colour scheme, typography set, illustration idea etc..

The concept proposes linking a spirit animal to each type of beer. It’s not right obvious what kind of animal has been portrayed adding a playful element to the label. Additionally to the silhouettes, a smaller illustrative element is used for each of the creatures. It helps representing the animal also on smaller areas like, for example, a beer cap, where a full illustration couldn’t be used. Every beer type has an assigned colour. The few bright, colourful details in combination with the dark forest background bring the nocturnal scene alive.

The shown proposal is a project outtake and the client selected another visual path to move forwards with, yet the idea was highly appreciated as an alternative option. For confidentiality reasons name of the company has been changed.
