Hello there.

My name is Katrina Kanepone and I am a graphic designer based in the Netherlands. Originally from Latvia, nordic aesthetics have deeply influenced my personal sense of good design, appreciating clean shapes, toned down colours and clear function. I enjoy the process of designing, seeing it as a puzzle with different elements, both conceptual and visual, that need to be tested in all these different combinations until they perfectly click together.

I’ve designed many brand visual identities, yet also worked in two different in-house design teams. This experience has allowed me to really understand the visual needs of a brand. My expertise doesn’t end with choosing the right fonts and colours, I have actually spent time using the visual branding tools in practice. I’ve touched all the steps of the process – from sketching a new logo to wrapping buses and taxis all over London. I am passionate about finding design solutions that work on print and digital, both on a large and small scale. To help companies shine on different digital platforms, I apply animation to my work.

When I’m not busy with work, I like to seek refuge and inspiration in nature. I try bringing it in my private space, surrounding myself with house plants and getting busy with cross-stitching mushroom silhouettes and moss inspired motives.
